Dear Vasquez Family:
I wanted to let you know
how much I enjoyed your performance at Tres
Margaritas this past week for the benefit
of the Sra. Ramirez Perez of Cuautla, Jalesco,
Thank you for ehe wonderful music and for
sharing the beauty of your family love and
unity. I was touched by your special bond
and how that sharing results in such a wonderful
musical presentation.
Thank you also for the
special gifts. I've really enjoyed the CD
and will think of you and your wonderful
family when ever I hear it.
Sincerely,
Ray Martinez,

The Partridge Family? Not..
The Jackson Five? Please. But cross Selena
with the Brady Bunch and you'd be pretty darn
close. Mariachi Vasquez is a certified mom-and-dad-and-all-the=kiddies
mariachi group. Daddy plays bass, Mama sings
tenor, and the three sisters and two brothers
join right in there. The group, which hails
from Tucson, has been shaking their maracas
since the kids were in Pampers. While other
chldren scribbled multiplication tables, these
youngsters perfected their chops on violin,
trumpet and guitar. Last year the group cut
its first CD, Como la Vas, and is compiling
its second. Mariachis usually are content
to cover the classics, but Mariachi Vasquez
spices its playlist with original material
and south-of-the-border tributes to Patsy
Cline and Elvis. Although the Vasquez kids
are still learning their way around a recording
studio -- let them make it through puberty
first - they can still put a little rumba
into a conga line. And the Mr. Microphone
tribute to the Kings -- as sung by ten-year-old
Vicente - is enough to put a swivil in your
hips. If not a black-velvet Elvis paintin
in your living room. |
"Mariachi Vasquez is a unique
family with charisma; they are the most requested
group in the region. As the major Mexican musical
representatives of the Rocky Mountain region, Mariachi
Vasquez continues to impress their vastly growing
audience. Not only are they the most popular Mariachi,
but also the most creative showmen on stage. It
is more than music they perform; it is a love of
the art and their beautiful culture, The gift of
music passed from one generation to the next is
a gift of love. It is this special gift that bonds
this family together, and we the audience are richer
for it. It is an honor to see these professional
and highly talented musicians perform. They make
you feel the pride of tradition and a culture being
highlighted in celebration." Luis A. Canela,
News Anchor-Promotions Director, Univision Denver
"I just wanted to tell
you it was a pleasure having you play at St. Mary's
Altar and Rosary meeting... All the ladies loved
your music and your beautiful family: your amazing
wife Sylvia and children - Anisa, Julie, Amanda,
Raulito and Vicente. You are living testimony that
a family that prays and "plays" together
stays together!" Alberta Lopez, President,
St. Mary's Altar and Rosary

"My wife and daughter and
I went out to the Adams County Fair this summer
just to listen to Mariachi Vasquez. What a beautiful
family you are! Your music brings joy to our hearts.
Not only your talent but also the love that you
have for your culture and heritage shines through.
" Pastor Nick Chamberlain
"I've seen you perform and
have your Cd which I love!" Finessa
Smith, Assets for Colorado Youth
"Mariachi Vasquez represents
truly what family is all about. A family that makes
music together, stays together and grows together.
I foresee a great future for such young talent.
I wish them the best because they are the BEST!"
Little Joe Hernandez, La Familla Enterprises
"Whether it's an original
composition or a cover of a classic, it's apparent
that talent, confidence, and showmanship are shared
equally by the parents and children in this mariachi.
Remember, the family that plays together, stays
together." Florence Hernandez-Ramos, President
& CEO KUVO 89.3 FM
