BALLET FOlKLORICO DE SAN ANTONIO

The Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio is a professional folklore Dance Company whose colorful and exciting performances have become, fo San Antonio, a cultural asset. established in 1965, the Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio was organized for the presentation of the Mexican and Spanish cultures through the art of dance. The company consist of 20 members well-versed and disciplined in the Mexican and Spanish dances. The academy is under direction of the artistic directores: Mark Molina, Boni Ramos.
Boni Ramos known professionallyh as "La Maja". Ms. Ramos is an accomplished dancer of both Mexican Folklorica and Spanish Flamenco. La Maja has been dancing for over 30 years, and has toured throughtout the world. Dancing since the early age of three, La Maja has studied with various instructors such as Enrique Iglesius, Nieves Paniagua, Nana Lorca, Huenantizo Lopez, Teresa Velez, Chuny Amaya, and Teresa Champion to name a few. La Maja has been teaching since the age of 16 for various dance companies in the US. She has also toured the US, Mexico, Spain with such companies as the Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio and Flamenco Fuego de San Antonio, with a noted show in the famous flamenco tablado El Areo de Cuchilleros in Madrid, Spain. La Maja is currently one of the Artictic Directors for Danca Unida and the Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio.

Mark Molina also known professionally as Marco Antonio. Marco Antonio was born and raised in San Antonio. It was here he began his dancing careet. Marco has studied various types of dance with his specialties being that of Mexican Folklorico and Spanish Flamenco. Marco has been dancing for over 15 years, and has studied under various artists in San Antonio and abroad. With such notable Mexican Folklorico instructors as Hueantzio Lopez, Angel Cid de Leon, Miguel Ponce, and Eduardo "Lolo" Guiterrez on Cancun, Mexico. Marco Antonio has also received extensive flameco training with such well known professionals as Ciro, Cristobel de los Reyes, Maria Nieves, Jose Greco, Raul Sadvodeo, and Teresa Champion amony others. Marco has been teaching for over 12 years now and has danced with various professional dance companies. Marco was also the Artistic Director and Choreographer for the Ballet Folklorico de Seguro Social and Grupo Folklorica de Centro Este. Marco Antonio has toured the US., Mexico and Spain with such professional dance companies as Los Flamencos de San Antonio, Flamenco Fuego de San Antonio, and the Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio. With noted shows in the world famous flamenco tablados Torres Bennejas and El Arro de Cuchilleros in Madrid Spain. Marco Antonio is currently one of the Artictic Directors for Danca Unida and the Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio.
